Adobe Pagemaker 7.0.2 (Upgrade Version) [Old Version] Order Now

To add a little to the previous review, it is an upgrade as it says. Typically any software upgrade expects to find a previous installed version, and this is no exception. My previous install is Pagemaker 6.5. The Pagemaker 7.0.2 upgrade found it, but it also asked me to enter its serial number, so write it down before you start or you'll have to exit install and then start again...damhikt. And of course it wants the new serial number which is on the CD box. Past that and all goes well. It does not overwrite or replace the previous version, so in my case I have a functioning 6.5 and 7.0.2 should I want that.
This new (and what I guess will be the last) release of Pagemaker doesn't differ a lot from 6.5. The biggest difference for me is it's compatibility with Photoshop PSD files. Pagemaker 6.5 issues a popup declaring that it doesn't know how to place this filetype, so getting a Photoshop image into this version requires working with a different bitmap filetype (jpg, etc.). But a PSD image places into Pagemaker 7 with no problem, even one that has been "Photoshopped" to include layers, etc.
There are some other bells and whistles, but for me the Photoshop compatibility is the heavy hitter.

I agree with another reviewer comment about the quality of the SureThing Labeler as far as user friendliness and flexibility is concerned. I have tried the demos of many brands of labeling software and this one is the best. Its user interface is highly intuitive and quirk-free, unlike many others. HOWEVER, the version on the CD-ROM from Ideasoft sold here is an old one (2003) and, as its fatal flaw in my opinion, it only supports four different brands of CD/DVD labels and a TOTAL of a only fourteen different labels. The very popular and inexpensive Memorex brand of labels is not supported and that is the brand that I use exclusively. Unfortunately, Ideasoft provides absolutely ZERO update support for this software on their web site, so there is no way to add support for more label types.

The latest version of the SureThing labeling software is produced by Microvision, not by Ideasoft. Their SureThing CD/DVD Labeler: Deluxe V5 supports _24_ different label brands. I bought it after my bad experience with the Ideasoft version and am very impressed by its updated, but still intuitive, user interface and even greater flexibility. This is an excellent line to make your own cards. Far superior to Hallmark and the
other ones out there. I have Greeting Card Factory #4 and simply LOVE it. There
is easy opportunity to edit/revise/delete/add wording and to actually see how it
will cover the picture/page when done. I would love to see #4 expanded because of
its adaptability, by adding more card pictures. Unfortunately so far they do not
seem to have another one with this capability.

I ordered #5 and found it didn't have the adaptability of changing wording to fit
one's needs--or else I didn't delve that far into it, like adding my name and date,
and editing, to what was already written there. That was my disappointment. How-
ever it was noticeably more complex in its choices, resources, uses, etc, and it
would take a more knowledgeable user to make use of all its potentials. I'd figure
it out in time, but for now I switched back to my Old Reliable #4.

So for #5, if your're knowledgeable, this offers much for its nominal cost. Either

We purchased this for our son for Christmas & he has not had the time to do much with it yet but I felt it very important to write this review sooner than later. The reason being is that we purchased it based on the information on the "Product Features" section. I know we read the Production Description part as well but for whatever reason (Christmas rush?) our brains did not pick up on the contradictory information provided in this Amazon listing. The "Features" section states: Works with Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G3, G4, G5 or Intel processor; Mac OSX v10.3 or newer (Mac OS X 10.4 recommended).
Well, we also went out and purchased a used computer specifically for him to make his videos on. That was OUR mistake since we really should have read the info. more clearly. We are running OSX 10.4.11 and Quicktime 7.6.4 on a Mac G4 tower and are having difficulty running the program. We see now that the IstopMotion requires a G5 or higher computer. We contacted Boinx Support, who are very helpful by the way, & they informed me that: yes, it can run on a G4 but you have to make sure the graphics card is compatible & that it will only work on a G4 with Radeon 9600 which unfortunately ours doesn't have.
The software package does clearly state that the correct system requirements but Amazon made an error in it's listing. Please note this contradiction. I will contact Amazon myself so hopefully if you are reading this you are confused by my review, assuming that Amazon corrected the problem.
Otherwise, since we do have a 2nd computer with the correct requirements (just not an optimal situation since that is "the adult's" computer), he has been able to use it here and there (when time has allowed) & it seems like really cool software. He intends to make movies using his Legos & this will certainly improve on his previous results so in that regard, even though it hasn't been tested much, I would definitely recommend considering this software, especially for the price!
